Cultural Competence Committee shares resources on the plight of the undocumented

Western's Cultural Competence Committee in the Dean Of Students unit typically has an in-person meeting monthly on different topics and issues that impact the university's students and employees.

With the campus community working from home, the committee has been sharing online resources. This month we wanted to bring education and awareness around Undocumented Immigrants, DACA (how it affects our students) and the dehumanization and decriminalization of undocumented people. See these shared resources and links below.

Our undocumented community is one of the most vulnerable populations during the COVID-19 pandemic in Washington State. The reality is that many undocumented people work in jobs that are the most vulnerable to exposure to the virus and the economic impacts. We know that the undocumented community will have limited access to government resources and a safety net to be able to take care of themselves and their families during this crisis.
