Construction work continues near Fraser, Humanities

Construction continues in and around Fraser Hall and the Humanities Building on the Western Washington University campus.

The water line work associated with the Fraser Hall renovation project will begin next week and continue until approximately July 3. Activities include:

  • Installation of fencing to restrict access around the “snake pit” (the island off the southeast corner of OM in Parking Lot 10G)
  • Installation of fencing in the Rose Garden
  • Arrival and operation of dump trucks and excavation equipment
  • Delivery and installation of an ADA ramp on the south side of Humanities

These activities will impact entries to both Old Main and Humanities. Detour signs will re-route pedestrian/vehicular circulation. Equipment operation and fencing installation will create noise and dust.

Please address any questions or concerns to the project manager, David Willett, at 360-650-6813 or david.willett@wwu.edu.

The Humanities exterior renewal project will begin June 17 and continue through the end of summer. Activities include:

  • Installation of fencing around work area
  • Installation of scaffold
  • Washing and cleaning of exterior walls
  • Removal of sealant
