Community invited to Nov. 10 Veterans Day ceremony on campus

Students, faculty and staff and community members are invited to a Veterans Day Ceremony from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10 in Western Washington University’s Viking Union Multipurpose Room.

A reception will immediately follow the ceremony. Both events are free and open to the public.

Featured speakers include: Western President Bruce Shepard; Dan First Scout Rowe, Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies instructor, U.S. Marine and Vietnam Veteran; Janelle Marshall, Western student and an enlisted U.S. Air Force Reservist; and Casi Myers, Western student and U.S. Navy Veteran.

The ceremony is sponsored by the Veterans Outreach Center and the reception is sponsored by the President’s Office, the office of the Vice President of Enrollment and Student Services and Veterans Outreach Center.

In observance of the holiday, WWU classes will not be held on Veterans Day on Friday, Nov. 11; this is also a WWU employee holiday.
