Colleagues contribute to scholarship fund in honor of Christina VanWingerden as she moves to Woodring

Dear friends and colleagues,

As you may have heard, Christina VanWingerden is moving into a new role in Woodring College of Education!
Please help us celebrate her 31 years of service to our division by making a gift in her honor to the Women of Color Empowerment Scholarship, a cause that is near and dear to her heart. Her legacy and leadership is worth celebrating…

  • She has served as Chair/Co-Chair of the Dean of Students Cultural Competence Committee and was a Target Grant recipient for Cultural Competence Assessment;
  • She has led/served at Nakama, the Equity and Inclusion Forum, the ESC Retreat, the DOS Unit, and the AS Onboarding, Training and Orientation module development; 
  • She has built community, planned celebrations for colleagues and promoted professional development in our division;
  • Christina completed her BA in Multidisciplinary Studies on Human Behavior, Magna Cum Laude, and earned Masters in Education, Adult and Higher Education WHILE balancing work and family.
  • She continues her studies and is working on a PHD at Simon Fraser University in Educational Technology and Learning Design.
