CFPA dean finalists to visit campus in March

Three candidates for the position of dean of the College of Fine and Performing Arts will visit the Western Washington University campus in March for open forum presentations.

This is an important university-wide leadership position, and WWU Provost Brent Carbajal encourages active participation by the campus community.

The schedule of visits for each candidate is as follows:

  • March 3 and 4: Margaret S. Mertz, associate dean of the College of Fine Arts at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla. A university-wide open forum presentation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday, March 3, in the Old Main Theater.
  • March 10 and 11: John Scheib, director of the School of Music at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind. A university-wide open forum presentation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday, March 10, in the Old Main Theater.
  • March 13 and 14: Christopher (Kit) Spicer, interim dean of the College of Fine and Performing Arts at Western Washington University. A university-wide open forum presentation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, March 13, in the Old Main Theater.
