Carver construction: Webcams live; town hall meeting is Oct. 9

Carver Academic Facility construction updates:

A concrete breaker was brought on site Wednesday. It attaches to an excavator and is used to break concrete slabs on grade and existing grade beams when other equipment is less efficient in demolition efforts. The bottom of the old pool was knocked out Wednesday night, and demolition of the central corridor slab began Thursday. This equipment will create very loud, deep rumbling noise and vibrations, and will operate intermittently for the next several weeks.

The Carver webcams are now live; check out the website see real-time construction progress. The activities you see may help you understand the challenges of renovating a structure that’s in the core of campus and surrounded by academic buildings.

Construction notices about Carver are also posted on the website, including information on the upcoming Town Hall informational meeting at noon on Friday, Oct. 9, in Haggard Hall Room 253.
