Call for 2017 Scholars Week Speaker Nominations

To the Campus Community,

The Scholars Week Organizing Committee invites nominations for the 2017 Keynote Speaker at the annual banquet during the week of May 15th-19th.  Speakers come from broad academic areas according to a regular schedule; for 2017 the individual will come from the natural and applied sciences.  Nominations may be from any field within these areas, but whatever the specialty, the nominee must be currently engaged in scholarly and/or creative activity.  Speakers also frequently make themselves available for other activities during Scholars Week, but such events are typically arranged with the speaker by the nominating faculty or department.  The selection criteria will be those the committee has used in the past:  potential to be an engaging speaker, ability to connect with a broad and diverse audience, and career accomplishments.  Please submit speaker nominations via the following form:

Nominations are due no later than 5 p.m. on Friday Oct. 28.
