Busy couple of days ahead at Carver

Construction activities at Carver are intensifying as the contractor continues to prepare the building for hosting spring commencement. Activities this week include:

  • Wednesday through Saturday, May 24 – 26:  Lift delivery and painting as previously announced.
  • Thursday, May 25: Sod delivery for the area north of Carver. Sod will be delivered to High Street and transferred to the site via forklifts along the fire lane road between College Hall and Haggard Hall. Spotters will escort the forklift at all times during the transfer work. Transfers will occur only between 15 and 45 minutes after the hour to minimize interaction with students between classes.
  • Friday, May 26: Mulch will be delivered and applied to the north area from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A spreader truck will drive along the outside of the construction fencing to apply mulch – again with spotters for pedestrian safety. The truck will not mulch beyond the northeast corner of the construction fencing.

The contractor will mitigate odor and noise impacts as much as possible but the central location of the site is challenging. If possible, please avoid this area.
