Business center to deliver 'The Rules of Raising Money' April 23

The Western Washington University Small Business Development Center, in partnership with the Washington Department of Financial Institutions, will host a presentation entitled “The Rules of Raising Money” from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, at the Quality Inn at 100 Kellogg Road in Bellingham.

The presentation is free and open to the public, and focuses on securities law and how it pertains to raising capital, defines what a security is and how a transaction may involve a security. Some other hot topics such as, owner financing, multiple investors on one project, and substitution of security/ moving collateral will be covered.

Business owners who are looking to raise capital in the form of debt equity or crowd funding are encouraged to attend as well as investors who are interested in investing in business or real estate.
