Bus pass no longer good for after-hours parking after Sept. 20, free permit required instead

Beginning Sept. 20, Viking XPress bus passes no longer will be usable for evening and weekend parking on the Western Washington University campus.

Instead, WWU faculty and staff who have purchased a bus pass can request an after-hours pass from Parking Services. The passes are free to bus pass holders and will be issued the week of Sept. 13, according to an e-mail message from Parking Services sent to the campus community.

To request an after-hours and weekend pass, fill out the Parking Services form online.

For more information on purchasing a Viking XPress bus pass, visit the WWU Transportation Services website.

The permit must be displayed hanging from the rear view mirror or clearly visible face up on the dash with the permit number facing up. It is valid from 4:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday. The permits are valid only in the following lots: 5G, 7G, 10G, 11G, 14G, 17G, and 19G. The permit is not valid at meters, load zones, reserved, disabled or maintenance spaces. Lots reserved for events are also restricted.

Parking is available in C and 12A lots with no permit needed between 4:30 p.m. and 7 a.m. Monday through Friday and all day on the weekends.
