Bicycle maintenance workshops planned for spring

Have you ever been curious how to fix a bike tire flat, adjust a derailleur or make your brakes tighter?

Several 30-minute Fix-It workshops are planned for spring quarter to help riders keep their bicycles in tip-top shape, learn how to fix common issues and gain a foundational understanding of bicycle maintenance. The workshops will take place at the Haggard Hall Fix-It station.

  • 4 p.m. Monday, April 18
  • Noon Tuesday, May 3
  • Noon Thursday, May 19 (the day before Bike to School and Work Day)

The Fix-It stations are free-to-use, 24-hour bicycle maintenance stations. Each station has a pump, Allen keys, box wrenches and a wealth of other tools. Four Fix-It stations are located throughout campus, at the Wade King Student Recreation Center, Haggard Hall, Arntzen Hall and the Outdoor Center.

These workshops are part of the Fix-It grant, funded by the Sustainable Action Fund. Anyone with a great way to make campus a more sustainable place may visit http://www.wwu.edu/sustain/programs/saf/ to see if the Sustainable Action Fund can make the idea a reality.
