Beta version of mobile app to be released Thursday at Tech Tonic

A beta version of a new mobile app for Western Washington University will be available in the Play Store for Android devices beginning Thursday, April 10.

The app, still in its development stages, was created and is being worked on by the Administrative Computing Services and WebTech departments on campus.

IT staffers will conduct demos and help with installing the app at the Tech Tonic event from 10 a.m. to 3p.m. Thursday in the Wilson Library Reading Room.

The iOS version for iPhones and iPads will be available as soon as it's approved by Apple. The app is currently in that process.

This app release is a proof-of-concept, and WWU hopes to further explore functionality as user responses and needs are evaluated. More information is available online at http://www.wwu.edu/mobile.

Users, once they've tested the app, are encouraged to complete the online survey to help developers work out any bugs and improve the product.
