AUAP to welcome new students Sept. 23

The Asia University America Program (AUAP) at Western Washington University will hold a ceremony at 3 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, to welcome 17 students from Tokyo's Asia University.

The ceremony will take place in Viking Union 462, and a reception will be held immediately following the ceremony. This event is free and open to the public.

AUAP students come to the states from Japan for five-month cycles. This is the 61st such cycle, as we celebrate 31 years of partnership. The AUAP offers students an opportunity to study abroad at WWU. The goal of the program is to provide AUAP students with high quality English language instruction and culturally enriching extracurricular activities, while at the same time offering WWU students, faculty and staff unique opportunities for language and cultural interaction, exchange and involvement.

Since 1988, 4,102 Asia University students have participated in the WWU AUAP. For more information about how to get involved, visit http://www.wwu.edu/auap/.
