AUAP to hold welcoming ceremony Sept. 18

The Asia University America Program at Western Washington University will hold a ceremony at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, to welcome 52 students from Tokyo's Asia University. The students will begin a five-month English language and cultural orientation program at Western.

The ceremony will take place in Miller Hall 138, and a reception will be held immediately following the ceremony in the Miller Hall Collaborative Space. This event is free and open to the public.

The AUAP offers students from Asia University in Tokyo an opportunity to study abroad at WWU. The goal of the program is to provide Asia University students with high quality English language instruction and culturally enriching extracurricular activities, while at the same time offering WWU students, faculty and staff unique opportunities for language and cultural interaction, exchange and involvement.
