Associated Students to hold costume ball Oct. 29

The Associated Students Resources and Outreach Programs' Veterans Outreach Center and Disability Outreach Center will co-host “The Costume Ball” from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Oct. 29 in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room.

Prices are $2 for Western students with ID and $3 for the public. Music will be provided by DJ Maynard from KISS 106.1-FM and will include music from Michael Jackson and the Beatles to today’s Top 40 hits. Food and drinks will be provided as well.

Quentin Hill, the Veterans Outreach Center coordinator, said he hopes this event will raise awareness about the center and will help bridge the existing gaps among veteran students, non-veteran students and individuals in the community.

“The idea behind the costume ball is simply that you never really know someone’s identity by looking at them,” Hill said. “You have to talk to them to get to know them.”
