AS club to offer swing dance lessons Saturday

The Associated Students Swing Kids club is offering a day filled with dancing on Saturday, Nov. 1.

Starting at 1:30 p.m., workshop classes featuring international instructors will begin. Two track levels will be available. The beginner track will focus on the basics of six-count/Eastcoast swing dance and the intermediate track will focus on the basics of eight-count/Lindy Hop. The beginner track will be held in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room on Western's campus, and the intermediate track will take place at The Belltower Studios. All classes end at 5:30 p.m.

The evening dance will take place at The Bellingham Dance Company starting at 7 p.m. A beginner six-count/Eastcoast lesson will be taught from 7 to 8 p.m. Live music will start around 8 p.m., and dancing will go until 11 that evening.

Costs for classes: $10/hour for WWU students & $12/hour for non-WWU students. Costs for dance: $10 for WWU students and $12 for non-WWU students.
