Armory in use for SWAT training Aug. 16 and 30.

The WWU Armory building on N. State Street is in use by the Bellingham Police Department for SWAT training through 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16. The training also will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30.

Nobody else is allowed to use the Armory during these times.

Built by the Washington National Guard in 1910, the Armory later served as a roller-skating rink before becoming WWU property in 1972. Plans are underway for how the building will be used in the future.
