'Airings' coming to the PAC Jan. 25

"Airings…voices of our youth" is a dance/theatre piece created by Kuntz and Company that explores the pressures young people face in the formative years of middle school and high school. The power of Airings lies in the true stories of these young people expressing their thoughts and their feelings in their words. Ideas explored in Airings include gender, sexuality, bullying, forgiveness, friendship, love, and hope.

This performance offers insight into the lives of young people and may be particularly helpful for future and current teachers, health and helping professionals, parents, and youth themselves. Airings was created in partnership with staff from the Bellingham and Mount Baker School Districts, faculty from WWU's Psychology Department, and more than 20 teenagers from the local community.

In the Fall of 2016 Airings enjoyed sold out performances at the Firehouse Performing Arts Center as well as performances in several Whatcom County Schools. This special WWU performance will include light refreshments as well as both pre- and post-performance events and is supported by Prevention and Wellness Services, The College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Woodring College of Education, The College of Fine and Performing Arts, Fairhaven College, The Counseling Center, and The Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program.

While this performance is free of charge, reservations are required. Follow this link to secure a ticket: http://www.kuntzandco.org/airings
