Flags to go to half-staff Jan. 11 in honor of Sheriff’s Deputy John Bernard

Governor Chris Gregoire has directed that flags at all Washington State agency facilities be lowered to half-staff Monday, Jan. 11, in memory of Grant County Sheriff’s Deputy John Bernard, who died on duty Jan. 3 from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business Monday, or first thing Tuesday morning.

A public memorial service is scheduled for noon on Monday, Jan. 11, at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake.
