Tonight on campus: Acclaimed soprano Katie Van Kooten

Katie Van Kooten, a Lynden native and acclaimed soprano, will return home after great successes at London’s Covent Garden, the Metropolitan Opera and Houston Grand Opera to headline a Christmas concert benefiting the Bellingham Festival of Music. The concert will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, in Western Washington University's Performing Arts Center Concert Hall.

This traditional Christmas concert also will feature the Bellingham Children’s Choir, with David Post, conductor, and San Francisco pianist, composer and arranger Brett Strader along with his wife, harpist Krista Strader.

Tickets are $10 for children and students through age 18. For adults, seats are $25 or $35. Patron tickets are $75. The ticket price helps subsidize children and students and includes a post-concert reception at WWU. Tax deductions are available for all tickets over $10.

Tickets are available at the WWU Box Office at (360) 650-6146 or boxoffice@wwu.edu.

This concert is underwritten by and will benefit the Bellingham Festival of Music. Sponsored by Saturna Capital.
