Central computer systems to be unavailable early Friday morning for upgrades

Most central computer systems will be unavailable from roughly 1 to 5 a.m. Dec. 18 for planned maintenance. The timing was chosen to coincide with a previously scheduled maintenance time for the university's Unix systems and to reduce the downtime that would occur with multiple upgrades. Banner and Web4U will not be affected. No email will be lost.

Services that will be unavailable:

  • All e-mail on Exchange (e.g., Outlook, Entourage, Outlook Web Access, BlackBerry services)
  • All central network file access (U: drive, P: drive, S: drive, etc.)
  • Blackboard
  • Most Microsoft Web servers
  • SQL database services
  • SharePoint
  • ContentDM
