Dec. 1 is deadline to comment on compensation and return-to-work policy

Dec. 1 is the deadline to submit comments on the proposed Workers’ Compensation and Transitional Return-to-Work policy from the Department of Environmental Health and Safety at Western Washington University.

The proposed policy is a substantial revision of the current Workers’ Compensation and Return-to-Work policy that was originally effective in 1991. This proposed revision has updated the existing policy and is meant to provide a clear and consistent framework to assist all departments in returning injured workers to their jobs.

The draft policy was reviewed by groups and individuals across campus and revised to reflect their input. A 30-day comment period is required prior to the final draft review by the President’s Cabinet. The policy is posted through Dec. 1, and the campus community is encouraged to review this document at http://www.wwu.edu/policies/30dayreview.shtml. Written comments may be sent to policies@wwu.edu or to University Policy Coordinator, Mail Stop 9015.
