International Education Week events to take place today

It's International Education Week at Western Washington University, and the Center for international Studies is sponsoring a variety of events on campus this week to draw attention to the variety of forms that this effort can take.

Today's events:

  • The Asia University Program is inviting colleagues to sit in on a number of its classes and meet students from Asia University in Japan. These courses are scheduled for 10 a.m. in Old Main Room 330A and 11 a.m. in Humanities Room 110. Additionally, another class will be open for visitors at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, in Old Main Room 330C.
  • Provost Catherine Riordan will present the 2009 International Education Award to this year's recipient. Noon, College Hall Room 131.
  • The Canadian-American Center, through the Border Policy Research Institute, will present a symposium titled "Immigration Reform: What's at Stake for the Northern Border" at 3 p.m. today, Nov. 12, in the Library Presentation Room. The featured presenters will be Margaret Stock and Edward Alden.

A display of materials relating to international education and study abroad has been posted by the office of International Programs and Exchanges in the Library near the glass walkway.
