Money available for student research and creative activity

Money is available to help undergraduate students at Western Washington University pursue research and creative activities projects.

The funds provide encouragement for undergraduate students to engage in creative work in their disciplines. The competition is open to any registered undergraduate student in good standing. Grants will normally be awarded in the range of $100 to $500 per project. The program is designed to support individual student projects only.

Grant applications are due to department chairs on Oct. 11. Application forms are available on the Research & Sponsored Programs website.

Proposals will be reviewed by a faculty committee appointed by the acting vice provost for research. At the end of the project, a brief written final report must be prepared by the student and submitted to his/her faculty mentor with a copy to the office of Research and Sponsored Programs (Old Main 530/MS 9038). In addition, each student should be prepared to present an oral or poster presentation of the results in an appropriate forum.

The vice provost for research solicits proposals for consideration early in every fall, winter and spring quarter, depending on funding availability.
