Mike Massanari invited to present paper at Academy of Health meeting in June

Mike Massanari, director of research and executive director of the Critical Junctures Institute at Western Washington University, has been invited to present a paper at the national Academy of Health research meeting in Seattle in June. Massanari's paper is titled "An Innovative Artificial-Intelligence-Based Distributed Software Technology to Improve Post-Marketing Surveillance for Drug Safety."

Yanqing Ji, from Gonzaga University, presented a paper in March at the North American International Fuzzy Information Processing Society titled "An Exclusive Causal-Leverage Measure for Detecting Adverse Drug Reactions from Electronic Medical Records." The paper, based on work done with Massanari, was one of just five that received an Outstanding Award.

Additionally, the following manuscript has been accepted for publication: "An Apparent Causal Association Mining Algorithm for Screening Adverse Drug Reactions in Post-marketing Surveillance. Transactions on Information Technology in Biomedicine." Authors are Yanqing Ji, Hao Ying, Peter Dews, Ayman Mansour, Margo S Farber, John Tran, Richard E Miller, and R Michael Massanari.
