Meet Max Stone, Western's new student trustee

Max Stone is Western's new student trustee

History and Philosophy double major Max Stone has been appointed by Gov. Jay Inslee to serve a one-year term as Western's new student trustee.

As a trustee during the 2023-24 academic year, Stone, a native of South Surrey, British Columbia, will represent the student body and give a valuable perspective to the entire WWU Board of Trustees on their behalf.

Stone, who takes over from last year's student trustee Keara Ryan, said he was excited to get to work.

"I am elated to have been appointed by the governor to serve on the Board of Trustees for the upcoming year," he said. "I look forward to being able to continue the legacy that has been fostered by Keara and the other past student trustees."

At Western, Stone is president of the Philosophy Club and president of the Men's Rugby Club. He is pursuing minors in both Holocaust and Genocide Studies and Honors Intradisciplinary Studies.
