Kitsap Bank President Anthony George to speak on campus Nov. 7

Western Washington University’s College of Business and Economics is bringing Anthony George, president and chief operating officer of Kitsap Bank, to campus for a discussion and presentation titled “Creating a ‘Sustainable’ Sustainability Culture” as part of the CBE Ethics and Social Responsibility Speaker Series at 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7 in Parks Hall Room 146.

The presentation is free and open to the public.

Anthony George has 28 years of banking-related experience, the last 18 at Kitsap Bank. George currently oversees the bank’s overall operations, including retail banking, accounting and financing, information technology, audit and risk management, and customer service.

George also oversees all of Kitsap Bank’s sustainability initiatives. As founder and chair of the bank’s “G-team,” George is committed to creating a culture around sustainability that benefits the bank’s customers, the community, and their bottom line economically. George has been instrumental in creating a culture around sustainability in the century-old bank and he intends it to serve as the backbone of the bank’s strategic initiatives going forward.

George graduated from Western with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Economics in 1986 and attended the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.

Western’s College of Business and Economics Ethics and Social Responsibility Speaker Series brings senior business leaders to campus to interact with students and share their perspectives and experiences related to ethics and social responsibility. The Speaker Series is presented by the CBE’s Center for Innovation and Education.
