July's Everett Get Your Blue On winner is a WSU faculty member

The folks at Western Washington University's location in Everett continue to promote the "Get Your Blue On" program to build pride and community for Western among students, staff and faculty at WWU Everett and among the partners of Everett University Center.

During the first season of running monthly "Western Week" contests, WWU Everett has had 34 people participate. While the main campus celebrates Western Wednesday, Everett has a week-long focus, in order to reach as many students as possible, many of whom are often only on campus one to two days per week. The program is supported through Extended Education and the Alumni Association. Anyone who is wearing their Western Blue during the first week of every month is welcome to enter a monthly drawing to win prizes such as Western gear or sports events tickets for "WWU Nights" organized by the Alumni Association. Participants have included WWU students, staff and faculty, including staff and faculty affiliated with Everett University Center and Everett Community College.

"Western Week" GYBO winner for July: Mark Beattie.

Tell us a little about yourself: My name is Mark, and I am the Program Coordinator, Clinical Assistant Professor for Washington State University, School of Hospitality Business Management.

Why should Everett University Center staff and faculty “Get Their Blue On” during Western Week? My wife is an alumna of Western, so I participate to support her alma mater.

Who will you be cheering for at the upcoming Aquasox game on July 25th? The Aquasox!  Go Frogs!
