Jeffrey King to talk culture and psychology at Faculty GUR Group Jan. 18 and 20

Jeffrey King, an associate professor of psychology at Western Washington University, will present "Culture and Psychology" next week in the Faculty GUR Group. Are there universals of human psychology? If so, how can they be discovered? What is the impact of culture on our understanding of human psychology? Join the group for a process-oriented exploration of the means through which the Western European basis of much of what is presented as psychology can be challenged.

All faculty and staff are invited to attend. There are two dates, each covering different material. Attend both or either:

  • 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, Humanities Room 107
  • 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, Humanities Room 107

The idea behind the Faculty GUR Group is that faculty – as well as students – need to sustain their general education. With this in mind, the Faculty GUR Group was formed to bring together faculty from different departments across the university to allow each participant to enhance their general education by acquiring useful knowledge their colleagues consider basic.
