Jeffrey King gives presentations, serves as consultant during busy summer

Jeffrey King (Psychology) has been involved in a number of activities this summer. He gave the invited presentation “Integrating Evidence and Practice: Practice-Based Evidence” at the Integrating Evidence and Practice invitational forum sponsored by the Child, Adolescent and Family Branch (CAFB), Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, held in Washington, DC., May 11 and 12.

He co-conducted a training with Holly Echo-Hawk on “Best Practices for American Indian/Alaska Native and Pacific Island Populations: A Culturally Congruent Approach to Effective Services” for the Training Institutes on New Horizons for Systems of Care: Effective Practice and Performance for Children and Youth with Mental Health Challenges and their Families, Georgetown Training Institute, held in National Harbor, Md., July 14 to 18.

King also co-presented with student research assistant Kitty Tempel on “Cross-Cultural Decision Making Strategies: Contrasts between Cherokee Native American and Australian College Students” at the 1st International Conference on Cross-Cultural Decision Making in Miamifrom July 17 to 20.

Also, he served as a consultant for the Effective Health Care Program Issues Exploration Forum on Mental Health, sponsored by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), held in Rockville, Md., on July 30.
