Western Washington University's sporty coupe, the Viking 45, has passed all the tests in the knockout round of the Progressive Automotive X Prize - an international competition to build a super fuel-efficient vehicle that consumers want to buy.
Western Washington University recognized Anna Boenish, of Sequim, as American Cultural Studies Outstanding Graduate for the 2009-2010 academic year.
Faculty members from each academic department select one graduate to honor as the outstanding graduate of the year. Selection is a high honor based on grades, research and writing, service to the campus and community and promise for the future.
"Like many young professionals in this retiree town, Coupeville Deputy Marshal Adrian Kuschnereit is often thought to be younger than he really is.
A 2003 graduate of Coupeville High School, in August he will have worked for the Coupeville Marshal’s Office for two years."
While the Automotive X-Prize has not yet issued any official press release about which teams have made it through the Knockout Stage, some of the teams are spreading the good news about their results. Western Washington University, the team behind the Viking 45, says it is one of 12 teams left in the $10 million competition.
They say they’re in it to win.
