Two Western Washington University athletes were honored by the Great Northwest Athletics Conference on Monday, Sept. 27.

The Vikings' Sarah Porter was named GNAC cross country Women's Athlete of the Week for Sept. 19-25.

Katie Sharpe, a senior from Bellingham, was named GNAC Women's Golfer of the Week for Sept. 19-25 after placing fifth at the Sonoma State Invitational with a 54-hole score of 223, posting rounds of 73, 76 and 74 while leading the Vikings to a second-place team finish.

Bellingham and campus police are asking for help in locating a Western Washington University student who has been missing since he did not come home after a weekend party.

Freshman Dwight A. Clark, 18, was reported missing Sunday night. He was last seen leaving a party in the 2000 block of Indian Street at around 2 a.m Sunday, Sept. 26.

Western Washington University fell 3-2 to Montana State University Billings in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference men's soccer game Saturday, Sept., 25, at Orca Field on the campus of Whatcom CC.

The Vikings fell to 3-3-2 overall and 0-2-1 in GNAC action with its second straight loss following a five-game unbeaten streak. MSUB improved to 5-2-1 overall and 1-1-0 in conference play.
