WWU to vote on $25 fee to pay for WTA bulk passes

Western Washington University students will be asked whether they want to extend for five years a $25-per-term fee that has purchased each of them bus passes.
If they say "no," the bulk-pass program, which has driven up ridership for Whatcom Transportation Authority, will end.
Campaigning started on campus Saturday, April 7, for a referendum seeking to continue the alternative transportation fee, which since 2007 has paid for WTA bus passes, as well as for late-night shuttle service and for two transportation staff positions.
