WWU team aims at next phase of X Prize for super fuel-efficient vehicles

"A team from Western Washington University has received a qualified go-ahead for the next phase of the Progressive Automotive X Prize - an international competition to build a super fuel-efficient vehicle that would appeal to the public.

WWU's Vehicle Research Institute and its sporty coupe, the Viking 45, is competing for part of a $10 million purse. The car runs on electricity and gasoline."
