WWU soccer roundup: women win, men lose

Elise Alyward (Jr., Renton/Lindburgh) and Anna DeWeirdt (Jr., Sammamish/Skyline) each had a pair of as Western Washington University rolled past Trinity Lutheran College, 7-1, in a non-conference women’s soccer game Saturday at Harrington Field.

The Vikings ranked No.5 in this week’s National Soccer Coaches Association of America NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll, improved to 9-1-0 overall with their seventh consecutive victory. WWU had a 43-4 advantage in shot attempts, including a 22-0 margin in the first half.
