WWU math teacher arrested after shooting on Nevada Street

A Western Washington University graduate teaching assistant has been arrested on suspicion of shooting a 30-year-old man.

Several people called police to report gunfire at 10:22 p.m. Saturday, May 11, in the 2600 block of Nevada Street. On the sidewalk, officers found a man bleeding from gunshot wounds, said Bellingham police spokesman Mark Young. The man survived, but his current condition and details about his injuries have not been released.
