WWU makes provost’s position permanent

Western Washington University has named Brent Carbajal, who was about halfway through a two-year term as provost, as the Bellingham school’s permanent provost. He will also become vice president for academic affairs.

Before he started the job as provost, Carbajal was dean of WWU’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences. As provost and vice-president, he will be the chief academic officer of the university. When the president is unavailable, the provost serves in that role.
