With limited supply of youth COVID-19 vaccines, this is where to find it in Whatcom County

It’s now been one week since COVID-19 vaccines became available for 5- to 11-year-old children, and supply has been limited, according to a release by the Whatcom County Health Department. “The pediatric version of the Pfizer vaccine is a different dosage than the version for adults and teens, and the two types are not interchangeable,” the release stated. “From a logistics point of view, it is a separate vaccine, and production of the vaccine is just getting started. “Similar to when the adult COVID-19 vaccines were first introduced at the end of 2020, the pediatric vaccines will be allocated to each state on a weekly basis.”
