Western Cares brings kindness to campus

Therapy dogs in the library and free candy handed out during breaks are both part of Western Cares, a program at Western in which faculty and students help their peers relax during dead and finals weeks with small acts of kindness.
Last year’s acts of kindness included Bruce Shepard buying 25 students coffee at Zoe’s Bookside Bagels and inspirational drawings being displayed on whiteboards in classrooms to brighten the students’ day, said Matthew Anderson, new media coordinator at Western.
