Wage stagnation a drag on Whatcom Co. economic recovery

"While looking for signs of an economic recovery, don't expect a sudden uptick in consumer spending anytime soon -- household income has been stagnant at best.

The Washington State Office of Financial Management recently updated its estimates of median household income - the amount of money coming in from all members of the household. In 2009 Whatcom County was projected to have had a median household income of $47,805, down from $49,372 in 2008. This area's peak was in 2006 - OFM's estimate for Whatcom County that year is $51,268."
