Vikings turn in solid performance on day 2 of UW Invite

The Western Washington University Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field squad had a handful of athletes compete in the second day of the 2016 UW Indoor Invitational held at the Dempsey Indoor Track.

The throwers and jumpers on both the men’s and women’s side had a record-setting day for the Vikings. Junior Megan Mortensen (Tacoma, WA/Franklin Pierce) set a school record in the shot put with a mark of 12.69m (41-07.75). Junior Brandon Pless (Sedro Wooley, WA) recorded an NCAA II provisional mark in the shot up with a mark of 16.10m (52-10) for the third-best throw in program history.
