Tribal rights expert to speak on Whatcom water issues

An expert on American Indian treaty rights will make two free public appearances on Thursday, Oct. 30, to discuss the role tribes play in protecting salmon habitat.

Charles Wilkinson will speak on “Stewards of the Land: The Critical Role of Modern Tribal Environmental Management in America,” at 4 p.m. in Communications Facility 120, Western Washington University. The talk is part of the Huxley College of the Environment speaker series.
