Post-Primary Analysis With Western Professor Todd Donovan

The first batch of votes are in for the Washington state primary election. In the race for Governor, Democrat Jay Inslee has a 4 percent lead over Republican Rob McKenna.

Western Washington University political science professor Todd Donovan tells KUOW's Sara Lerner that could mean McKenna won't get much financial backing from Republicans nationwide.

And Donovan puts Washington's 1st Congressional District race in perspective nationally. He says it's one of the most expensive Congressional primary races in the country.
