Port Townsend man selected for state's delegation to Democratic National Convention

Eli Waite has won his first election and is headed to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.

The 32-year-old Port Townsend man rose to the top of a field of 60 candidates on May 20 as one of seven from the 6th Congressional District chosen to be part of Washington state’s delegation for the national convention.

“It was incredibly surprising,” Waite said on Monday of the honor of being elected.
