Men's basketball: Vikings win GNAC title

No. 24 ranked Seattle Pacific University may own the top defense in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in terms of points allowed per game, but the No. 14 ranked Western Washington University men's basketball team showed Thursday night it has no problem playing a defensive game if need be.
Coming off a loss against Central Washington University, which snapped a 10-game winning streak, the Vikings deviated from their fast-paced brand of basketball and smothered SPU with suffocating defensive pressure for 40 minutes, as WWU edged the Falcons 72-70 to sew up a regular season GNAC title and the No. 1 seed in the GNAC Tournament on Feb. 23, at Carver Gym.
