Local colleges aim to welcome veterans back home

There's only one student organization at Seattle Central Community College that has its own room on campus — a kick-back lounge on the north end of the school with a plush couch, a coffee maker, a couple of computers, desks and chairs, and three American flags.

It's nothing fancy, but it's a place where a casual question — Hey, where did you serve? — can connect students whose life experiences are worlds apart from their college peers.
