Jellyfish already in Hampton Roads?

"Some alert readers recently spotted jellyfish in Hampton, specifically in Indian River Creek and Buckroe Beach. It's early for jellyfish, they said, noting the spongy swimmers don't normally appear until summertime.

The kind of jellyfish most people encounter - the species that sting, the Lion's Mane and Sea Nettle - are not common this time of year, said Deborah Steinberg, a jellyfish expert at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science in Gloucester Point."
