Governor appoints Black Hills graduate as WWU student trustee

Gov. Jay Inslee has appointed Carly Roberts, 22, of Tumwater, as the student trustee for Western Washington University in Bellingham. It’s a one-year term.

“I’m just really excited,” Roberts said in a phone interview with The Olympian. “I love Western, I love this community and I love having the opportunity to continue serving the community this way.”

Roberts is a 2010 graduate of Black Hills High School in Tumwater. She’s a senior who is studying political science and economics with a minor in ancient Greek language.
