Four Vikings Awarded For Academic Success

Four Western Washington University student-athletes have been named to the 2016 Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Academic teams for men’s and women’s basketball.

Junior forward Rachel Albert (Bellingham, WA/Sehome), junior guard Aleisha Hathaway (Spokane, WA/Shadle Park) and junior point guard Taylor Peacocke (Kenmore, WA/Inglemoor/Sacramento State) were selected to the women’s basketball team. Hathaway and Peacocke are two-time selections also being named GNAC Academic All-Stars last season.

On the men’s side sophomore forward Evan Scholten (Bothell, WA/Cedar Park Christian) was recognized for his 3.65 GPA in the classroom.
