Fans flock to new field for WWU soccer

As the sun was setting over Robert S. Harrington Field on Saturday, Aug. 23, it was hard not to notice the symbolism between the new turf field on Western Washington University's campus and the men's soccer team.

Much like the surface, the team has a new identity. After fifth-place finishes in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in 2011 and 2012, the team finished third and barely missed the playoffs in 2013 under new coach Greg Brisbon.

This year, the team hopes to take that a step further.
